STEM Preparatory Schools

As I shared in the phone call, last Friday STEM Prep received devastating news. Brooke Jackson, our principal, passed away.

We shared this news with students today and we will be actively supporting our students with crisis management and mental health teams. Counselors led a lesson around grief in class today and will continue to provide one-on-one support to students as needed.

Ms. Jackson was a beloved member of our STEM Prep family and the founding principal of our school. She was an inspirational leader who touched the lives of all those around her – staff, students, and parents alike. Ms. Jackson was committed to bettering the opportunities for students in our community and we will continue to honor her vision.

While we cannot replace Ms. Jackson, our team has moved quickly to ensure STEM Prep Elementary has strong leadership. Janette Rodriguez-Pack, our Chief Academic Officer, will serve as school leader alongside Rasha Dakhil, site coordinator. Both worked very closely with Ms. Jackson to create the instructional program at STEM Prep Elementary and are committed to carrying out her vision.

We are planning to honor Ms. Jackson and will provide details as they become available. In addition, we are setting up a GoFundMe for donations to support her two children.

We are heartbroken to lose one of our beloved STEM Prep family members and we will do everything we can to help each and every member of our family grieve and process this loss.

Thank you,

Emilio Pack
